I like this one a lot, since it enables you to hack some of the android games that cannot be hacked with simple memory editing and changing values, because the values are either hidden too well, stored in the cloud of otherwise protected by checks and balances. Lucky Patcher is mostly an awesome app that allows you to install and manage apps on a rooted device and install new system apps, but it also allows you to patch APKs to remove ads, generate hacked APK files, emulate levels and premium in-app purchases and so on. An awesome tool that can be used to create modded / hacked APK files even without a rooted phone. Its my favorite tool on Android in general as it can be used for almost anything including hacking mobile games.

Without a rooted phone, this app will only really be able to generate modded APKs, so having a rooted device is still recommended, but not necessary.

Modded / Hacked APK Files

This is more of a “way” to hack games, rather than an app or tool. However, it is one of the more popular ones, if potentially harmful as well. Modded APK files are essentially the same APKs that you install when you download a game from the playstore or a website. However, these hacked APK files have been tampered with: They have been decompiled, modded to include cheats hardcoded into the game, and then recompiled.

This way of hacking game is incredibly popular, since it does not require you to have a rooted phone, it works for online games to a certain extent, it is easy to simply install an APK and play and the cheats are as good as they get with any tool.

So then why is this method on the last place? It is because there are a lot of shady sites out there that may infect your phone and your devices by spreading fake modded APKs. Modded APKs are also very easy for online game providers to ban, making it very likely that your account gets banned after using public hacks for online games. Cheat Engine is initially a PC cheating tool, and without a doubt the best of its kind, but recently they have also released an Android APK version. Cheat Engine can be used in 2 ways to cheat in Android games:

1. Either you use Cheat Engine on your PC to hack games running on an emulator on your Windows PC, which can be highly effective and follows the usual procedure of scanning for values, changing them ect. This is the most effective way of using CE to cheat in mobile games there is at the moment.
2. You can use the Android version of CE to use as an alternative to other memory editors, such as GameGuardian or SB Game Hacker. However, CE for Android APK is currently not up to par with other similar apps, which is why I would recommend that you either wait for updates or simply use the other apps. Also this tool will require a rooted device.

Apps such as Root Explorer are called File System Explorers and they basically require root access, but provide you with the ability to browse, copy and paste, change, look at any files on your Android device. This not only allows you to sniff through game files, but also to change your savegames in offline Android games, go change game files to mod the game difficulty, change ingame prices, change starting money and resources, changing health ect. For some filetypes, such as .db and .sql databases you will still need a PC to actually edit them in most cases, but this is a viable option for hacking a game when direct memory editing fails for some reason (mostly value encryption). One of the first and most popular memory editors that have ever been released for Android devices. However, the app has not been updated since 2012 and has stopped working for some devices. However, it does still work for many people and has to be mentioned, if for nothing else, then because it was the first Android game editing app that ever got very popular. It allows you to easily scan for values and then edit them.

This app is perfect for older phones with outdated firmware and Android OS, also an alternative to the more recent value editors if nothing else works for your device of the specific game you are looking to cheat in. This app as all of these memory tools, will require root privileges to complete scans and change numbers in your phone memory.

APK Decompilation/Compilation Tools

The Decompiling of APK files is the foundation of APK modding in which a decompiler program takes the (game) APK and decompiles it into the basic resources and scripts that make up the APK game packet. – This then allows the modder to edit, modify and change resources and scripts inside the Game in order to either implement visual changes or cheats, such as unlimited money and gems for offline games, wallhacks, speedhacks, automated actions ect for online mobile games. At the end of the process, the APK is recompiled and ready for use as a cheat.

What exact tool is used in decompiling and recompiling APK files is not important. However, there are certain tools that are able to recompile signed APKs more easily than your average zip/rar software. Also this kind of cheat will require the user to have access to a PC/mac for obvious reasons, since it is needed to modify the complex inner workings of the game app and engage working hacks.

Private Servers

A way of cheating is online games (only) on Android that has beomce increasingly popular in the more recent times. As more games move to online only, people have started creating their own servers that are usually emulating the original game servers to give the player unlimited gems, money, resources ect. Essentially they can give you anything and everything you want to have in any game. HOWEVER, they are incredibly hard to reverse-engineer and create, unless the devs are giving out the original server-side software, you having cheats won’t be special, because on most private or simulated game servers, everyone has cheats and you will need a special APK client to even connect to the private server.

Best Way Hacking Games without a Rooted Phone (NO ROOT)

If you are looking for a way to use all these apps with NO ROOTED device, then the only way to go is to use an emulator instead. Some emulators can be easily rooted and others are already rooted when you download and install them. You can find Android emulators for Windows and Mac HERE.
